What's a "wiki"

"Wiki" is hawaiian for "quick," but the tool (this thing you are looking at) is a 'shared workspace' that you have ownership over.

Unlike a website where one person edits content and posts new material, a wiki allows any user to write, delete, and comment to each page, and create new ones (pages).

Some Helpful Tips...

Navigation

The 'main page' of this wiki is called the "Front Page" This is a convention that we all do not have control over.

The Sidebar to the Right lists navigation to each page.

You OWN this site. This means you shouldn't send your edits to Mike Klugman. You should edit the page yourself above by clicking on the "EDIT" button...BUT, be careful. Any changes you make are permanent.

Discretion:

Two general rules about posting content ANYWHERE ONLINE...

1. You can't take it back...

You might think that anything that you post, once posted, can be pulled back, deleted, or changed if you get to it quickly after you've posted it. This is a common MISTAKE that novice web users assume and make. Some tips: avoid conflict, emotional reaction, and personal comments directed at individuals.

2. It's public even if you think it's not...

Our space may be in the most remote corner of the internet but it is accessible from anywhere and by anyone. Wiki's can be set up to be "private" but even this is not secure. Our wiki is set up to be open to viewing by the public so our community can gain inspiration from the wonderful work being done in and around Bethlehem by our staff AND our community.
